Fault-tolerant Turbo machinery Control System

The TRICON TS 3000 is a proven fault-tolerant turbomachinery control system. The heart of the TS3000 is a Triconex triple modular redundant (TMR) controller. These 2-out-of-3 voting systems are providing control and protection in over 1000 installations around the world, of which, over 100 are critical turbine control systems. The TS3000 is designed for critical turbines and associated equipment. The powerful 32-bit processor uses flexible control software for retrofit control of large utility steam turbine-generators, critical gas turbine-generators, and gas as well as steam turbine driven chemical process compressors.

Features

Designed for all Critical Steam and Gas Turbines

 Accommodates common industrial turbine-generators and turbine-compressors. Standard TS3000 retrofit packages are controlling GE, Westinghouse, Siemens, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce, and Solar turbines.

Standard Ladder Logic & Turbo-machinery Control Functions

 Enables easy modification and maintenance of control system software. Coordinated generator or compressor control modules are used for remote start-up, auto-synchronization, process control, and surge control.

Hardwired, Graphical, or Remote Operator Interface

 Several interface options are available, from discrete switches and meters, to graphical CRTs and DCS system interfaces, e.g., MODBUS, IEEE 802.3 with TCP/IP, Windows DDE, and other protocols.

TMR Availability

 Component or imput faults are identified by voting, which isolates them for continued correct operation. Designed for easy on-line component replacement. Unlike other systems, the third processor executes a safe shutdown upon second processor failure.
